A while back I posted some pics of a top rotating binding jig inspired by Dons jig with Daves Modification, I finally arrived at the one in the pics below, I have strengthen the carriage assembly, adapted it for use with a dewalt instead of the makita trimmer (I like my makita for many jobs, but prefer the guide bearing on the dewalt), and added a height adjuster to my work board to make leveling the guitar to the cutter easier. I've been using this version in anger for around a month and it works great. |

OK, that guitar holding system? Genius. I'm stealing that idea, if you don't mind... |

Jump'in Jehoshaphat Batman, ever since Dave White posted his take on the Williams jig early in the year, this is sort of what I have had in mind but with a second smaller lazy sue bearing on top were you have the bushing, well done Russell I like it very much. ![]() You Poms (and I mean that in a most endearing way) are really innovative with your jigs and guitar building. I to really intend to steal your body clamp idea, it will save a lot of fooling about when setting up, great post. Thanks Mate Cheers Kim |

Mattia Of Course I don't mind, copy away. Kim I tried a lazy susan bearing on the top swivel, but the one I had, had too much slop in it. Dave Thanks buddy |

Hmm I guess I will have to be more choosy about which lazy Susan I pick Russ, but thanks for the tip ![]() Cheers Kim |

Very nice Russell. I use Don's jig and like it very much. What you've done to the guitar holding part, though, is wonderful. I spend a lot of time trying to get the guitar parallel to the jig, and this innovation will work great. Congratulations and thanks for the posting. Ron |
